80/20 @ Kaelin's
We decided to go to 80/20 @ Kaelin's on Newburg Road one afternoon a few weeks ago. We loved it so much that we've been back three times! Kaelin's claim to fame is "The Home of the Cheeseburger". I have to say, their cheeseburger is really special. However, my favorite dish from there is the meatloaf. It was served with fantastic mashed potatoes and green beans and topped with crunchy little julienne fried carrots. If you like meatloaf you have to try it.
Why Timing the Market Rarely Works
Mortgage interest rates are slowly drifting lower, giving a much-needed boost to both homebuyers and home sellers. Yet, home prices continue to rise, even as more sellers put their homes on the market. Why? The U.S. is still several million homes short of a balanced market. So, do you want to wait for cheaper rates or go ahead a buy a home before home prices rise further?
To time the housing market perfectly, you need to:
Find the right home.
Buy at the right price.
Obtain the right mortgage interest rate.
You may get lucky and get one out of three or even two out of three, but it’s nearly impossible to get all three at the same time unless the market is in a recession or depression. Only then will there be plenty of homes to choose from, low prices, and low mortgage interest rates.
Start with finding the right home—one that best meets your household’s needs for space and features, your finances, and a reasonable interest rate.
Fun - Louisville Style - Farmington
Did you know that there is an old hemp plantation tucked in just inorth of the Watterson? Farmington was home to the John Speed family and was a 550-acre hemp plantation in the 1800s. The main house was built in 1816 and hosted future president Abraham Lincoln for three weeks in 1841 - how cool is that? Brett and I did a tour there a few years ago. We had a great time and learned a lot! You can book your tour at Visit | Take a Tour of Farmington Historic House | Louisville, KY.
