Pets are part of the family, but when it’s time to sell, a few extra steps can help ensure buyers focus on your home and everything it has to offer.

Start with a thorough cleaning, paying special attention to carpets, upholstery, pet bedding, and frequently used areas where odors can linger. It’s also a good time to take care of scratched doors, worn flooring, damaged screens, or other signs of everyday life with pets.

Before listing photos and showings, tuck away food bowls, crates, litter boxes, toys, and pet beds when possible. The goal isn’t to hide the fact that pets live there, but to create a clean, neutral space where buyers can easily picture themselves at home.

Bringing Sunshine to Kids Who Need It Most

This September, we join communities across the country in recognizing Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and supporting the children and families facing a cancer diagnosis.

One cause especially close to the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices network is The Sunshine Kids Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to providing positive group activities, emotional support, and memorable experiences for children receiving cancer treatment.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices network members proudly support The Sunshine Kids through fundraising, volunteering, and community events, collectively raising more than $2 million each year to help bring a little more sunshine into the lives of young cancer patients. 

Throughout September, you can help by wearing gold to raise awareness, volunteering, sharing the mission, or making a donation to The Sunshine Kids Foundation.
