American Consumer Confidence at Highest Level Since 2001 

New York-based Conference Board released results that the Consumer Confidence Index increased to 113.7 in December, which is the highest level it has been since August 2001. According to the survey, Americans are becoming more optimistic about the economy, job prospects and income. Other growth in numbers include an increase of respondents planning to purchase automobiles and appliances in the near future, and the number of respondents expecting better business conditions six months from now rose to 23.6 percent from 16.4 percent. 

November Signals Huge Month in Home Sales for Chicagoland 

Consumer confidence in the U.S. in September was at its highest level since before the recession, according to Conference Board. The Confidence Index rose to 104.1, which is the highest since August 2007. Other bright findings include that the share of those who said jobs were plentiful rose to 27.9, which is the highest since July 2007. The findings may encourage consumer spending in the coming months.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Group’s offices served as drop off locations in  their communities for Toys for Tots. The U.S. Marine Corp. Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation collects new, unwrapped toys each year, and delivers them to less fortunate children in the community. Donations poured into the offices, leading to a collection of over 1,600 toys that were given to children in the Chicagoland area.
