Home Sales Off the Charts in December

A February 2015 Housing Market Report from REAL Trends showed that housing sales increased 6.6 percent from the same month in 2014. All four regions across the U.S. reported that unit sales had increased from the same time a year ago. Specifically in the Midwest, sales were up 7.3 percent from a year ago. Mortgage Rates Still Below 4%, But For How Long? 

Freddie Mac reports that at the end of last week, a 30-year fixed mortgage rate fell below 4 percent to 3.79 percent. While rates are forecasted to increase this year, the continued historically low mortgage rates should help to boost home sales as buyers continue to be incentivized. The 15-year fixed rate also dropped to 3.07 percent.
