Survey Says: Americans Rank Real Estate As Best Long Term Investment 

In a recent Gallup poll, Americans ranked real estate as the best long term investment, over stocks and gold. 35 percent of those polled selected real estate as their top investment choice with 22 percent selecting stocks. The results of the poll also indicated that the amount of renters versus homeowners who chose real estate as the best long term investment was virtually equal, with only a 2 percent difference. 

Entry-Level Homes Making a Comeback 

There is encouraging news for first-time home buyers. A recent analysis by BUILDER online showed that the number of homebuilders offering entry-level housing, or “starter” homes as they are also known, rose by 25 percent last year compared to the previous year. While entry-level homes became nearly extinct, more and more builders are now devoting 50 percent of their business to building starter homes.
