U.S. Consumer Spending and Incomes Exceed Projections

A Commerce Department report showed that January consumer purchases climbed by 0.5 percent, the most in eight months. Income growth exceeded   Bloomberg survey forecasts as well.. Steady hiring, low gasoline prices, and rising home values are boosting consumer purchasing power.

Foreclosures in Chicagoland at Lowest Level in Nearly a Decade

According to the latest numbers from RealtyTrac, foreclosure activity in Chicagoland has fallen to its lowest level since 2007. The number of foreclosures is down 11.82 percent from December 2015, and down 37.82 percent from January 2015. The numbers are down even more dramatically since the market’s peak of foreclosures, declining 78.22 percent from July 2010.
