2019 was a continuation of an upward trend on the Key West real estate market.  We have been closely monitoring two main issues: interest rates and inventory.  Interest rates remained low for the majority of 2019 which lead to Buyer’s money going farther.  New inventory on the market in Key West was down  9% compared to 2018. Number of sold properties was amazingly only off by 8 homes.  540 homes sold in 2019 compared to 548 in 2018.  With supply down and demand consistent, we saw upward pressure on the real estate market and that’s good news for all of us.  The average sale price increased by 4% to $866,562. Properties on average sold for 96% of the final asking price. 

We’ve been matching people and places in the Florida Keys for the last 6 decades, so we’ve seen the ups and downs of the real estate market. No matter what happens in 2020, we’ll continue to monitor the housing trends closely to keep you ahead of the market and in the know.  #Goodtoknow
