Jingle all the way into December!

 

We are approaching one of the busiest times, when stress increases, and you start to question, is it really the most wonderful time of the year?  We are so lucky here in the Wasatch Back.  We don’t just have an assortment of outdoor activities, but also community events right at our fingertips to ease the stress and make life a little more enjoyable.  Below we have listed our favorite activities in December.  There are quite a few to warm your heart and spark your holiday spirit!

Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas!!

 

This year the beginning of Hanukkah coincides with Christmas Day and there are a number of activities to help you get in the spirit and make the most of the holidays.  If you missed the tree lighting in Park City last month, Oakley will host theirs on December 5th at 5pm at the Civic Center and Heber City will host theirs on December 6th at 6pm in the historic square.  

 

Santa isn’t just for kids anymore, in Park City there is fun for adults too! Put on your best holiday outfit and head to Main Street on December 7th for the annual Park City Santa Pub crawl, don’t forget to bring your favorite child’s toy (unwrapped).  Looking for a Santa photo op? The Montage is hosting breakfast with Santa on December 14th and 21st, see him come down the town lift on Main Street on December 21st or catch him on skis at Deer Valley on December 24th.  

 

Be sure to attend the Grand Menorah Lighting in Miner’s Park on Main Street December 25th.  Between December 25th and January 2nd, both the Pendry and the Montage will host nightly menorah lighting, make a night of it an enjoy dinner or a drink after at one of the many restaurants.  On December 28th head to the top of Main Street for the Menorah Parade.   

 

Lastly, end the month with a true Park City Tradition!  Head to Deer Valley on December 30th for the on mountain Torchlight parade!

Shred For Red

 

Ski for a cause at Deer Valley on December 7th from 9:30 AM — 12:30 PM.  The seventh annual Shred for Red is hosted by Deer Valley to spread awareness and raise funds to eradicate blood cancers on behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).  Shred For Red is family-friendly and open to skiers of all abilities. All proceeds will benefit LLS’s efforts to support blood cancer patients and their families before, during and after their cancer journey. December isn’t just for the holidays!  It is a great time to get out and experience a new winter sport or take part in one of our unique local dining experiences.  Did you know that Park City has over 70 kilometers of groomed cross-country ski trails and endless snow shoe trails?  Rent gear or take a lesson from White Pine Touring or if you feel like a change of scenery, head to Sundance Nordic Center.  After a fun day outdoors, keep the fun alive and make a reservation for the Viking Yurt for a fine dining adventure in the heart of the Wasatch Mountains.  Looking for a more family friendly option? The Snowed Inn Sleigh Company is an unforgettable western experience. Located on the slopes of Park City Mountain Resort, they offer horse-drawn sleigh rides up to their lodge for western-style dining and live music.
