Comparing August 2020 to August 2019:

 

In the Florida Keys we saw a strong comeback in the real estate market.  We are seeing our prediction of pent up buyer demand coming true. 

Throughout the Keys the number of sold residential properties was 281 compared to 181 last year.  The Average sale price was up $226,944 year over year and we have 61 new listings this August compared to August 2019 for a total of 303 new listings. 

 

Interest rates continue to be at or around record lows which is fueling buyer’s purchase power.  With a healthy balance of supply and demand and a Florida Keys lifestyle like no place on earth, we see continued upward pressure on the real estate market.

'UNPRECEDENTED'

FLORIDA KEYS RESIDENTIAL REAL ESTATE SALES JUMP 50% IN JULY!

"At the beginning of June, Realtors in the Florida Keys were banking on something they called “pent up demand.” Sales were down that month by more than 20% compared to 2019 numbers. 

A month later, sales exploded. 

In Monroe County, sales of residential properties jumped 50% over 2019 numbers. In 2019, 191 homes sold. In 2020, the number soared to 286. In terms of dollar volume for the entire Florida Keys, that represents $209 million in sales, an increase of $72 million just for the month of July 2020 over July 2019."

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

LIVING WITH CANCER IS A REALITY FACED BY THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN ALL OVER THE WORLD.

Here are a few things we can do to help kids with cancer:

  • Raise awareness and volunteer.
  • Promote gold. Wear gold this month: hair ties and ribbons, shoelaces, t-shirts, crowns, bling with a purpose and pediatric cancer pins will all do the trick.
  • Donate to The Sunshine Kids, a non-profit organization dedicated to children with cancer. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices has been a national sponsor of this organization for more than 25 years and has playeda major role through its many network fundraising activities, helping to put smiles on the faces of kids with cancer everywhere.
