HomeOwner Equity Hits 4-Year High

According to the most recent CoreLogic Equity report, the average American homeowner gained approximately $15,000 in their home equity, which is the highest amount gained since 2013. Higher home equity levels can potentially lead to higher spending for homeowners. In Illinois specifically, the average homeowner gained $7,000 in their home equity in 2017.

Manufacturing and Construction Gain Strength in February

Industrial and manufacturing production numbers were up in February, the latter showing the largest gain since October, according to the Federal Reserve. The U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development also released a recent report that showed the number of building permits issued in February was up 6.5 percent from 1,219,000 in February 2017 to 1,377,000 this year.
