2021 BUBBAS: KEY WEST PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS — BY THE NUMBERS

The voting is over and the 2021 Bubbas winners will be announced at the Saturday, July 24 Awards Gala. And as we lead up to one of the most anticipated evenings of the year at the Key West Theater, here are some incredible stats from this year’s Bubbas.

That’s how many total individual ballots were cast in 2021. This includes both our nominations and finals stages. For the past several years, voters could vote in the nomination stage once a week, then once a day in the finals stage. This has dramatically increased engagement and awareness across the globe.

The number of page views at keysweekly.com over four weeks of Bubbas voting.

The number of continents that participated in the 2021 Bubbas: Key West People’s Choice Awards. Voting stretched as far north as Taluskyla, Finland and as far south as Lyons, Australia. A few votes were even cast from the remote island of La Palma in the Canary Islands.

The number of states that voted in this year’s Bubbas. This obviously includes Hawaii and Alaska.

$100,000 

The amount of money (plus a little more) raised for local nonprofits since the Bubbas began eight years ago. This year’s contest benefits Wesley House Family Services.

The amount of money the Key West Theater has charged the event to use their facility. This will be the seventh Bubbas Awards Gala hosted by the theater, which donates the use of the property so more money can be raised for local nonprofits.
