Summer in the desert is coming to a close and this year was like any other reaching record highs. This year Palm Springs reached up to 121 degrees toppling a 50-year-old maximum temperature record. With fall approaching the desert will soon begin it's lovely weather welcoming all the snowbirds this season.

The Rancho Mirage Observatory opened in 2018 and has made a huge impact in the Coachella Valley. This new addition was intended to further public understanding of our night skies while offering new programming opportunities in astronomy. The Observatory will be able to transmit images to locations within the Library, creating limitless possibilities for educational programming and activities for all ages and levels of expertise.

Sunrise Park Neighborhood
This neighborhood is in a great central location in Palm Springs. It’s less than a mile from Downtown as well as the Uptown Design District. Homes here are in a variety of architectural styles, many designed by well-known architects including William Krisel, Jack Meiselman, Roy Burton, Hugh Kaptur and William Cody (some of whom chose to build their own homes here!) The neighborhood also encompasses the Palm Springs Cultural Center (home to many Film Festivals, screenings of foreign and independent films, and a variety of Cultural Events), the College of the Desert PS Campus (under construction), and Sunrise Park which is home to the Palm Springs Library center, the Boys and Girls Club, the Mizell Senior Center, a skate park, our stadium and the swim center.
