OCTOBER 2016

Dear Friends,

With October comes our traditional high season in the Coachella Valley: clear, sunny skies, cooler temperatures, more visitors, and more activity of every kind -  bringing a corresponding increase in real estate inventory to the market, and more prospective Buyers to consider each listing.

The Coachella Valley always has an amazing inventory of properties currently Active for Sale, which - coupled with the beautiful weather - make Autumn a great season for Sellers who are serious about selling, to meet actual Buyers, who are seriously interested in Buying.

Local statistics show an overall increase of 7.8% in the median sales price from $320,000, at September 30, 2015, to $345,000, at September 30, 2016. This reflects the overall continuing upward trend, from its low point in the 3rd quarter of 2011. Continuing new developement, coupled with high-profile events - like this month's Goldenvoice Desert Storm concert event, at the Empire Polo Grounds, in Indio - give further weight to the belief that growth, and appreciation, will continue.

Whether you are looking to buy or sell, I can offer the highest levels in real estate expertise and professionalism. Please contact me, and allow me to help guide you through that process.

Why Postmodernism Still Matters

from Houzz.com, by John Hill

First articulated in architectural terms by Charles Jencks in the 1977 book The Language of Postmodern Architecture, the movement traces its impetus to Robert Venturi's 1966 treatise, Complexity and Contradiction in Architecture The title indicates two traits that Postmodern architecture embodies: complex forms and surfaces over Modernism's abstraction; and a mixture of irony and ambiguity that embraces borrowing and reappropriating historical elements.
